Find a Wealth of Art and Culture
in The Big Easy!

Thursday – Sunday, February 22-25, 2018

Visiting New Orleans after Mardi Grais is the perfect opportunity to soak up the food and culture that make the city great.
Join Art Encounter’s Artistic Director Joanna Pinsky to celebrate this extraordinary city’s 300th birthday while exploring its art triennial, Prospect.4: The Lotus In Spite of the Swamp. In its fourth edition, this fascinating exhibit of international artists will be shown throughout the city with installations in museums, a streetcar, a ferry and other unexpected venues. Curated by Trevor Schoonmaker, Director of the Nasher Museum at Duke University, the exhibition addresses issues of identity, displacement and cultural hybridity. And of course, with New Orleans’ rich multicultural blend of music, cuisine and history, we will explore delectable cuisine, jazz and even voodoo religion. Get an inside view of the city in visits to local artists’ studios and private collections.
