Damon Lamar Reed
King Arts School, 2425 Greenwood Street

Civil Rights Leaders from Around the World was created during the 2025–26 school year by artist Damon Lamar Reed, working with the 8th grade class at King Arts School in Evanston. Creating a lasting legacy gift for their school, students worked with Damon to design and paint the library mural, which portrays and honors the courageous individuals throughout history that have fought for justice, equality, and freedom.

Jeff Zimmermann
Sherman Avenue and Greenwood Street

Fun and Games by Jeff Zimmermann celebrates innovations and inventions related to children’s play that originated in Evanston, including Tinker Toys, ice cream sundaes, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, and toys by renowned Evanston toy designer Marvin Glass. This mural was created in tandem with The Evanston History Center and their exhibit of the same name. Read more about the images featured on the Evanston History Center’s “Fun and Games” webpage.

Shawn Bullen
Elmwood Avenue between Davis Street and Grove Street

A Walk Along the Lake by Shawn Bullen is a visual homage to Lake Michigan, taking viewers on a journey along the lakefront that begins in Evanston, runs along the entire city of Chicago, and ends in Indiana. The mural includes recognizable landmarks woven throughout scenic, panoramic views. Photos coming soon!

Garrett Munski, Ole Flores, Alex Mendoza, and Jordan Nickel
Green Bay Road between Foster Street and Simpson Street

This mural was painted by four artists who were members of Evanston’s storied graffiti scene in the 1990s and 2000s: Ole Flores, Alex Mendoza, Garrett Munski, and Jordan Nickel. Their collaboration honors the legacy of former graffiti murals that existed at that time, and which are slowly returning with this pilot wall. The back of the wall will serve as a “permission wall,” a space for anyone to come practice their craft and create a gallery of endlessly-rotating artwork.

Lea Pinsky and Dustin Harris
1601 Simpson Street

This graphic, text-centered mural was painted by Art Encounter’s Evanston Mural Arts Program co-founders, Lea Pinsky and Dustin Harris. Created as part of the city’s Enjoy Evanston initiative, the piece welcomes visitors to the Ashland Arts District and celebrates the neighborhood’s unique identity.
